Take your handicap to the next level
‘No sport is more dependent on mental attitude than golf.’ (Dr. Joseph Parent)
The driving range is your second home. Here, you have learned to master your tee shot. The ball flies in a straight line and effortlessly clears the 200-meter mark. Your next challenge is the putting green, where you feel confident putting the ball in the hole in just one shot. Everything looks good, and you are full of confidence.
After this successful practice, you are convinced you can improve your handicap in the upcoming tournament. You have demonstrated your skills and are ready for the next challenge. But as you stand at the starting line, club in the hand, your heart begins to race. You doubt your abilities and repeat the mantra in your head: “I can’t mess it up!”. You execute the downswing, but uncertainly and botch the tee shot. The ball lands too close, and you hear yourself saving, “I messed up again!”. Your colleague reminds you to stay calm and maintain focus. But how does that work?
Mental Training – The key to success
Mental training is the answer. Through targeted training, you can learn to develop the right mindset and successfully control your shots. With the mental techniques, you can direct your focus on the positive, control your heart rate, mentally relax and stay focused. Mental training will lead you to your optimal performance state and thus improve your handicap.
